An appalled mum has shared a photo of her son’s spelling homework after noticing the teacher had apparently made a series of basic spelling mistakes.

The woman, named only as Amanda from Kent posted a snap of the homework, set as preparation for the Year 6 SAT exams, over the weekend.

She wrote: “My son has spellings from school that they want him to learn.

“I'm currently holding my head and sighing.”

Alongside the misspelling of “sincerely” and “immediately” the unfortunate teacher had also written “work” instead of “week” and “your” as “you”.

The tweet has been shared hundreds of times, leading some Twitter users to suggest it was a fake.

But the mum then tweeted another photo of the work glued into her son’s school book as proof it was real.

Amanda, who has refused to name and shame the school on social media, said she would be making a complaint.

She wrote: “I appreciate and value teachers but errors like that are just not on. Spellings being sent home that are incorrect is a big issue in my opinion.”

Update. Found this in son's bag. The mum later said she had found another version of the homework in her son’s bag with some of the errors corrected, but even that had several mistakes on it.
