A young woman was sexually assaulted by a man in a “terrifying attack” in a south London street on Easter Sunday.
The victim, aged in her 20s, was set upon from behind by the man in Streatham at around 2.30am on March 27.
She had got off a route 250 bus in Green Lane and crossed the road, shortly before she was grabbed and sexually assaulted as she walked along Granville Gardens, police said.
The suspect is described as a man, who wore dark clothing and carried a rucksack.
Detective Chief Inspector Sian Thomas, from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, who is leading the investigation, said: "This man committed a terrifying attack against a young woman and must be apprehended.
“I would urge anyone who has information that could assist this investigation, or anyone who knows who is responsible, to contact police."
Police said the assault is not being linked with any other offences and no arrests have been made at this stage.
