A woman was left with damaged teeth, broken glasses and a cut lip after she was assaulted by a man on a London train during rush hour, police said.

The woman was set upon after becoming involved in an argument with a man in a busy train carriage at around 8.30am on the day of the assault.

Police said she was attacked as she was trying to leave the train at Canning Town station on Thursday, April 23.

Officers have now released CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with the attack on the DLR in east London.

Detective Constable Helen Parsfield said: "The assault caused damage to the women’s front teeth, bruising to her face and a cut to her lip. Her glasses were also broken."

Officers said the woman was left "incredibly distressed" by the attack, adding that they are doing "all we can to catch the person responsible".
