A £32,000 stuffed Arctic wolf with a snarling mouth has been taken in a burglary at a flat in Chelsea.

Police said the six-foot long taxidermy collectable went missing on the morning of August 3 after its female owner returned home with a friend and three men they had met on a night out in Soho.

The group got back to the flat around 4am, police said, with the three men leaving about an hour later and the victim realising the large wolf had disappeared later that morning.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said the unique stuffed animal, with an open snarling mouth and yellow glass eyes, had been bought six years ago from a taxidermy shop.

Described as standing three feet high, it has white fur with black speckles visible on its back, shoulders and ears.

He added police were searching for three white male suspects said to be in their 20s.

Det Sgt Sean Lyons said: "This is a unique item and I am appealing to anyone who may know the three suspects or have information about the stolen Arctic wolf to contact police."
