Detectives have made three further arrests in connection with a west London garage blaze which killed a 21-year-old graduate.

Former University of Greenwich student Sherif Habib died on Monday when the flames ripped through the building in Cranleigh Gardens, Southall.

He was carried by firefighters from the blaze before he was taken to a specialist burns unit in Essex where he was later pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination held at Uxbridge Mortuary on Wednesday gave an initial cause of death as severe burns.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and has been bailed to a date in June.

On Thursday three men were held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson and remain in police custody.

At this stage in the investigation the death of Mr Habib, a British-Egyptian dual national, is being treated as "unexplained", according to police.

Detective Inspector Janet Livesey, Ealing Police CID, said: "I would like to appeal to anyone with any information, or indeed anyone who witnessed the fire to come forward and speak to the police in confidence."

Anyone with information should call police on 020 8721 7070 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
