Three boys were arrested today over the stabbing of a 12-year-old boy outside a Croydon supermarket.

Two 13-year-olds and one 14-year-old are being held at a south London police station on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after the boy was stabbed in the leg and hand on January 20.

Two other boys aged 15 were arrested last week on the same charge and have been bailed.

Police say suspects approached the victim outside the branch of Tesco Express on Whitehorse Road and went through his pockets. After an altercation he was stabbed, police said.

The victim has taken to a south London hospital but has since been released.
