A special constable has been charged with making child porn images while off-duty.

David Baddiel, 32, a volunteer police officer in Barnet, was this week charged with three counts of making indecent images of children.

He has been bailed to appear at Hendon Magistrates' Court on February 12, where he will also face five counts of possessing extreme pornography.

He is currently suspended from duty, Scotland Yard said today.

The Met's special constables support borough police officers across London.

They are hired to work about 16 hours a month and have various duties including taking part in street patrols, road safety initiatives and conducting house-to-house enquiries.
