A 43-year-old man was shot multiple times after a party in south London, police said.

Scotland Yard’s Trident gang crime unit launched an investigation after the shooting in South Norwood in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The victim attended University Hospital Croydon with “multiple gunshot wounds” and is now in a serious but stable condition.

He is thought to have been shot in Belgrave Road just before 2am.

A spokesman for the Met said: “Detectives investigating are keen to speak to anyone who attended a party on South Norwood High Street late on Monday, 28 December as they may hold vital information that could assist police with their investigation.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on 020 7109 8626 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
