A young motorcyclist has died after he crashed his bike into a parked car in south-east London.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, hit the parked car in Sidcup in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Medics fought to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in Maylands Drive shortly after 5am.

The man’s next of kin have been informed but officers await formal identification.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based in Catford are investigating the crash.
