A man has been charged with murder after a pensioner was found stabbed to death in her east London home.

Shotera Bibi, 80, was found suffering stab injuries to her chest at her home in Landeer Avenue, Manor Park at 9.56am on Saturday.

The London Ambulance Service and an air ambulance were called but Shotera Bibi was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ali Subell, 33, who lived with the victim has been charged with her murder.

He has been remanded in custody ahead of his appearance at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Her family have been informed and a post-mortem examination held on Sunday gave her cause of death as stab wounds to the chest.
