A police officer has been sacked after he was accused of punching a man and calling him a ‘silly posh t***’.

Pc Shane Moulds was dismissed today following allegations he and Pc Steve Hartrey assaulted a young man when he tried to knock over a road sign in King’s Cross on a drunken night out.

The Camden officers appeared in front of a four-day misconduct hearing at the Empress State Building in Fulham after fellow officers complained to bosses.

The constables were accused of using unreasonable and unjustifiable force against the man while abusive language was used towards him during the incident on September 21, 2014.

Four officers who witnessed the incident gave evidence at the hearing.

Pc Moulds was found guilty by the panel of breaches of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of use of force, discreditable conduct and authority, respect and courtesy.

The case against Pc Hartey was not proven and the officer will return to full duties.

Police have yet to trace the alleged victim, described as a white man in his early 20s, as no name or address was noted, the Camden New Journal reported.

Pc Shaun Roberts, now a full-time officer after working at the time of the incident as a volunteer special constable, said in an email to his supervisor: “I was totally shocked... I believe they intentionally assaulted the white male with no grounds to do so,” the paper reported.

Pc Moulds intervened when they were called to the incident and said: “Let’s go over here and have a nice little chat you silly posh t***”, according to the paper.

Both men denied the allegations.
