Two men have been stabbed and two other people were injured after a knife attack in north-east London.

Police said one man is fighting for his life and a woman was treated for head injuries after a stabbing in Walthamstow on Monday afternoon.

There were taken to separate east London hospitals after the London Ambulance Service was called to the scene outside a Tesco shop in Forest Road.

Two men - one with stab wounds and one with cuts - also presented themselves to hospital later.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said police were called at 4.22pm to reports of someone armed with a knife and a person injured at the junction of Forest Road and Pembar Avenue.

There have been no arrests.
