Moment youth 'burns CCTV camera before arson attack in lift'

Detectives have today released CCTV footage of two teenagers they want to speak to in connection with an arson at Dagenham Lock.

Footage shows two youths with bicycles getting into a footbridge lift at about 6pm on Thursday, October 22, with one of them smoking a cigarette.

After lighting his friend’s cigarette, one of the teenagers, who is wearing a hooded jacket, uses the lighter to burn the CCTV camera in the lift.

The first teenager is described as white with ginger hair, and he was wearing a dark blue Parka-style jacket with a fur hood, a dark blue jumper with a red image on the front, dark jeans and blue shoes.

The second, who was smoking a cigarette, is described as a white male with short brown hair with a parting.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, white cords, grey tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers with white stripes.
