Serving Met officer charged over ‘sexual communication with child’

A serving Met police officer has been charged with sexual communication with a child.

PC Will Scott-Barrett based in the force’s intelligence command, will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He was charged on November 16 after an investigation by Scotland Yard’s online child sexual abuse and exploitation unit.

The allegation relates to a complaint made about Scott-Barrett’s conduct while he was off-duty in February.

The Met said PC Scott-Barrett was suspended from duty after the initial allegation was made and the Directorate of Professional Standards informed.
