Man in court accused of socialite killing

A financial adviser was appearing in court today charged with the murder of a wealthy socialite found battered to death in his Mayfair flat.

David Jeffs, 36, a private client adviser with the City-based HFM Columbus asset management company, was due to appear at Croydon magistrates’ court charged with killing 63-year-old Robert Troyan.

Mr Troyan died on March 8 after suffering head injuries.

Police believe he was attacked at some point before 4pm.
