A man is critically ill in hospital after being shot by police in Surrey amid fears he was armed and had a bomb.
The man, who is in his 40s, is said to be in critical but stable condition in hospital today.
Nearby residents were evacuated after concerns an explosive device was planted at the address, however a bomb disposal team found nothing.
Surrey Police said they were called to the address following reports that a man was armed and intending to harm himself and others.
Armed response teams raced to the scene and the man was shot in a confrontation just after 10pm.

The man is being treated at St George's Hospital, in Tooting, south London, though police have not revealed the extent of his injuries.
Another man, in his 30s, was arrested at the address in Oak Tree Road in Knaphill. He was being held in custody this morning.
Officers reported that a firearm was discovered at the scene but it has not yet been examined.
Surrey Police said: “The address has now been secured by police and the incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
“Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
The IPCC said it had sent investigators to the scene last night and they were assessing the situation.
