A murder probe has been launched after a man died after being found suffering suspected stab wounds in an Essex street.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was rushed to hospital from the scene in Epping Road, Epping, shortly before 8pm on Tuesday. He died in hospital.

The Wakes Arms roundabout in Epping and its approaching roads were closed as detectives continued their investigation.

Morning commuters have been warned significant delays are likely and have been asked to avoid the area where possible.

Anyone with information on the man's death is asked to contact Essex Police's major crimes team by phoning 101 and quoting reference 1191 of June 23, or by emailing scd.appeals.essexessex.pnn.police.uk.

Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
