A street robber who dragged a 61-year-old woman to the ground and ripped jewellery from her neck and arm during a horrifying attack in north London has been jailed.
The following day, Lucas Danko had punched a 55-year-old man in the face and tore a bracelet from his wrist, leaving him with a broken nose.
Danko, 22, was jailed for four years after admitting two counts of robbery at Wood Green Crown Court while Courtney White, 21, was given a suspended sentence for handling stolen goods.
Det Sgt Damian Hill said on Monday: “The manner in which these violent robberies were carried out was particularly distressing to the victims.
“The lady who was robbed told me she has been scared to go out since the offence. I hope the sentence today will help her overcome her anxiety as a result of the incident.”
Danko and White were snared when police spotted them getting into a minicab.
“As officers approached them,” said a spokesman, “Danko was seen to throw jewellery stolen in the robbery into the front of the cab.”
Danko, of Birstall Road, Tottenham, was jailed for 18 months for the first attack and four years for the second, to run concurrently.
White, of Higham Road, Tottenham, was given two concurrent 14-month sentences for handling stolen goods, suspended for two years.
