A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed when a fight broke out near a busy west London bus and Tube station.

According to police, the victim, believed to be 19, was knifed when violence broke out near Hammersmith bus station.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a disturbance at around 5.30pm today.

He was taken to hospital in an ambulance but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

After the stabbing, the area around the bus station was cordoned off while police carried out their investigations.

Ellen Feely posted a picture of the scene on Twitter, writing: "Police incident at Hammersmith Broadway.

"Walkway to outdoor bus station cordoned off. Loads of cops & ambulances."

And Verity Anderson wrote: "Tons of police and ambulances at Hammersmith bus station - tube entrance closed."

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said there had been no arrests so far.
