Police have today launched a murder investigation after a 19-year-old man has been stabbed to death near a train station in east London.
Police were called to Goodmayes Road, close to Goodmayes train station, at just before 1am today to reports of a stabbing.
The man was taken to an east London hospital by paramedics where he was pronounced dead at 1.45am.
Witnesses described "a lot of commotion" outside a Shisha bar on the road.
Kamram Nayyer, 29, who lives in a flat above the scene, told the Standard: “I was watching TV and then there were some boys and girls shouting at each other and a lot of commotion out in the street.

“When I looked outside there were ambulances everywhere and police cars and then a stretcher came into view and they were carrying someone on it into the ambulance.”
Another resident, a 28-year-old woman, added: “I came out of my flat and there was just a huge crowd of people outside the Shisha bar. Then I saw them wheel the boy into the ambulance.
“He looked very young and just a teenager. He had an oxygen mask over his face and he wasn’t moving in the stretcher. He had a sheet over him up to his neck, so it looked pretty bad.”
Passers-by described “police everywhere” following the incident.
One man, who lives nearby, said: “I’ve heard there were an unusual amount of youths in the area last night.”
Police spokeswoman said: “A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
“Next of kin are aware.
“There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”
