A man has been charged with burglary after a raid at a jewellers in London's Fleet Street.
Nicolae Sisca, 45, of no fixed address, was charged with three offences, the Metropolitan Police said.
The theft took place at George Attenborough and Son Jewellers in east London last month.
Sisca appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday where he was remanded in custody, a statement from Scotland Yard confirmed.
His next appearance will be at Southwark Crown Court on May 10.
The raid is thought to have taken place while thousands of runners were taking part in a half marathon nearby over the weekend of March 23-24
Photos taken from inside the branch of a William Hill next door showed a wall had been boarded up following the raid.
A Crown Prosecution Service spokesman confirmed Sisca was charged with: one count of conspiracy to commit a burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal, between February 3 and March 25; one count of burglary other than a dwelling, between March 22 and 25; and one count of criminal damage to property valued at over £5,000 during the same four-day time frame.
The Met said it was unable to provide any further details about the amounts allegedly stolen or the damage caused.
