The heartbroken family of a father stabbed to death in west London have described him as a “family man” without “a bad bone in his body” as detectives continue to investigate.
“Darren was a family man,” his relatives said in a statement released on Friday.
“He leaves behind his family, including two children. He did not have a bad bone in his body.”
Police were called to a property in Brentwick Gardens in Brentford around 5.15am last Wednesday to reports of intruders.
Mr Augustine was found in the street with serious injuries.
An air ambulance and paramedics were also scrambled to the scene, but despite the efforts of emergency services Mr Augustine was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination later found he died as a result of stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.
Ten people - seven men and three women, whose ages range from mid-teens to early 60s - were initially arrested on suspicion of murder.
All have since been bailed to dates in mid-May pending further enquiries.
A further man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, and has been bailed to late-July.
More than a week on from the murder, police remain at the scene as homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continue to investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Sal Minhas, who is leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts are with Darren’s family and friends as they come to terms with his tragic death. We will do everything we can to support them.
“A dedicated team of detectives are working to establish exactly what happened and identify who is responsible.
“Officers are at the scene which remains open, and I would ask anyone with information about the incident to contact us immediately, no matter how minor the detail.
