A former teacher turned media personality has been charged with sexual offences against schoolboys.

Simon Warr, 60, of Great West Road in Hounslow, west London, was arrested by Suffolk Police officers investigating historic allegations of abuse at St George’s School, Great Finborough, in the 1980s.

He has been charged with two counts of indecent assault and three counts of gross indecency with a boy relating to the school near Stowmarket and will appear before magistrates later this month.

He has also been charged with two historic offences relating to the Royal Hospital School at Holbrook in the late 1980s and early 1990s - one count of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency with a boy.

As well as being a teacher, Warr has appeared on radio and national television, including The One Show as a social media commentator.

He has also featured in Channel 4’s That’ll Teach ‘Em, and was a sports broadcaster for BBC Radio Suffolk and a columnist for the East Anglian Daily Times.
