Police have released footage of a man they want to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted in Islington.

The victim, in her twenties, had been with a friend as they left a Westminster nightclub around 3am on July 25.

The pair got into a car they believed was a taxi they had pre-booked before leaving the club but they quickly became suspicious.

The driver began to drive in the opposite direction and offered the women a drink, police said.

When they refused the drink and got out at Hornsey Street, the driver sexually assaulted the victim and drove off towards Holloway Road.

The woman called police at 4.15am. An investigation was launched.

Anyone who recognises the man in the image is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 1441/25Jul.

To remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
