A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping another teenage boy in a broad daylight attack in north London.

Police are investigating an alleged rape in Roe Green Park, Kilburn, at about 9am on Tuesday.

A forensic tent was set up at the scene and was still in place on Wednesday, witnesses said.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police investigating a rape in Roe Green Park, Kingsbury Road, at around 9am on Tuesday, May 16, have made an arrest.

“A 13-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday, May 17 on suspicion of rape.

"He remains in custody at a north London police station.

“The victim, a boy aged in his early teens, was assaulted by another male in the park.”

Schools in the area reportedly sent pupils home after hearing about the attack and warned students to avoid the park.

Officers from the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command are investigating.
