A paedophile ring that streamed child abuse live from the Philippines included 139 British suspects, police revealed today.

They were among 733 suspects in 12 countries around the world who paid to watch children as young as six being abused via webcams.

The National Crime Agency, Britain’s FBI, joined forces with Australian and US investigators to break up the paedophile ring.

So far 17 Britons have been arrested as part of two-year Operation Endeavour. Fifteen victims, aged six to 15, have been rescued in the Philippines. In some cases their own relatives sold them for abuse.

Police there have arrested 11 Filipino nationals suspected of organising the abuse. In the UK five of the 17 suspects arrested have been convicted, nine investigations are ongoing, one will face no further action and two are dead.
