Luxury Asian hotel group Alila boasts a new water-based launch in the shape of the Alila Purnama, a 46-metre wooden phinisi, a traditional Indonesian two-masted sailing ship.

Decked out with custom-made teak furniture, the ship has four cabins with queen-size bed, en-suite bathrooms and a master suite, with wraparound windows, a private balcony and sundeck. The inaugural voyage sails on December 15 for six nights from the immense Raja Ampat archipelago in eastern Indonesia. The diversity of marine life in these waters is some of the richest in the world, with hundreds of dive sites.
