Summer in the northern hemisphere is all about rewarding ourselves for the bleak winter we’ve just endured and taking advantage of all the gorgeous European beaches on our doorstep.
Luckily, to help narrow down our chosen holiday locale, Post Office UK has released its annual Holiday Costs Barometer for 2019 which details the cheapest places to go for a beach holiday this year – and it’s a scorcher.
Sunny Beach in Bulgaria tops the list of the of the best bargain beach holiday for 2019, down 10.7 per cent from last year, with the Algarve in Portugal following close behind with a price fall of 16.2 per cent.
Limassol in Cyprus saw the biggest price fall over the past 12-month period, with a 20 per cent drop, moving it to ninth place from last year’s 16th placing.

Spanish destinations dominate the list, taking up a quarter, with Torremolinos and Benidorm being the cheapest beach destinations to visit.
Though there are questions still lingering over the Brexit date, this appears to be a good thing for British holidaymakers.
Nick Boden, Head of Post Office Travel Money, said: “The extent to which prices have fallen gives us confidence that if they choose wisely, holidaymakers will still find great value and their holiday budget will go a long way in most resorts. The price falls could be an indication that tourist businesses in European resorts are keen to attract UK visitors and will keep costs low to do so.”
