The Crush: Ben Whishaw

Because we're desperate to inspect his gadgets

Ahh, Ben Whishaw: excuse us while we drown in those swoonsome green eyes, grab a handful of that thick, shaggy hair and generally nuzzle our way into your long, lithe arms.

To tell the truth, you had us at ‘To be...’ when we saw you play a petulant Hamlet in Trevor Nunn’s 2004 staging and we’ve been following (totally not stalking) you ever since. Then, just when we thought you’d reached a professional zenith with Brideshead, The Hour and Richard II, you only go and take on the coolest role in the most famous film franchise of all time.

Well, helloooo Q, Bond’s new gadget guru in Skyfall. We knew something was missing in Daniel Craig’s past two Bonds (Q was last played by John Cleese in Die Another Day), and, call us kooky, but for all Craig’s rippling muscles and ham-jawed handsomeness, we’d much rather hang out with Whishaw’s chic geek. In real life the dreamy actor admits to being a techno-Luddite, which is completely fine by us: we’d happily turn off our iPads for an evening discussing Shakespeare, and looking intensely into each other’s eyes, with this cutie who can really work a cardi.
