Cardi B's fans were thrilled when the rapper announced she would be releasing a Fashion Nova collaboration. So thrilled, in fact, that when the line dropped at midnight Wednesday it had already sold out by the morning. Vogue shared the first look with their readers, including details on Cardi's favorite piece, a red faux gator jacket she said would be perfect for her sister, influencer Hennessy, who made her first Vogue appearance during Pride.
Cardi told Elle that the collection is for "bitches with ass like me", adding that she wanted to make sure the designs catered to women of color.
“It's very important for a fashion retailer to [do that] because first things first: women of color, we are the women that got the most voluptuous bodies,” she told the magazine. And her followers agreed - the collection, featuring bodycon dresses, bodysuits, and bustiers is now completely gone.
The first time designer has been busy with other projects too. Her music video “Money” is on the way, and she's also been confirmed as a judge on Netflix's new music reality show Rythm + Flow.
