Morpher: highly portable head protection

Extremely portable: the Morpher helmet
David Wiliams1 September 2017

Even reluctant cycle helmet wearers like the ‘Morpher’, which folds down to roughly the thickness of a Rough Guide. Designed by an inventor who survived a cycle crash, it looks and functions like a normal helmet, but thanks to four simple, effective lock-in clips, folds to a size that lets you stash it in a bag, your car’s glove box, or a desk drawer.

It makes sense for Boris Bike users, too, who are deterred by carrying anything bulky. At £120, it looks a lot more stylish than many other helmets, is comfortable, light, comes in a soft carry bag — and has a clever chin strap lock that doesn’t pinch your skin. I like it.
