Meghan Markle reveals fabric from the outfit she wore on first date with Harry was stitched to wedding dress as her 'something blue'

The Duchess of Sussex has revealed more secrets about her wedding day...

More of Meghan Markle's wedding secrets have been revealed thanks to the hotly anticipated ITV documentary, Queen of the World.

In the most recent clip to be released ahead of the show's airing on Tuesday night, we see the Duchess of Sussex reunited with her wedding dress for the first time since her wedding day. Conservators for The Royal Collection are preparing the dress at Buckingham Palace for it to go on display.

"Is it as beautiful as you remember?" conservator Hannah Belcher asks Markle.

To which she responds: "My goodness! It's amazing, isn't it?"

"Wow, very pretty. Beautiful. Somewhere in here, there’s a piece of…did you see it? The piece of blue fabric that's stitched inside?

"It was my 'something blue'. It's fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date" she reveals.

"Oh, that's about the most romantic thing I've heard" Belcher says.

Markle's stunning Givenchy gown and five-metre flowing train was designed by acclaimed British designer Clare Waight Keller.

In a second clip, the Duchess tells the story behind her decision to have the distinctive flora of each 53 Commonwealth countries incorporated into the design of her veil, revealing it was a "surprise" for Prince Harry.

"It was important for me, especially now being a part of the royal family, to have all 53 of the Commonwealth countries incorporated, and I knew that it would be a fun surprise as well for my now husband, who didn't know, and he was really over the moon to find out that I would make this choice for our day together, and I think the other members of the family had a similar reaction and just appreciation for the fact that we understand how important this is for us and the role that we play, and the work that we're gonna continue to do within the Commonwealth countries.

"So, yeah, it was good news all around, I think, so I hope people liked it as much as I liked helping to create it".

The two-part documentary, which was filmed over more than a year, will offer unique behind-the-scenes footage of Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the royal family, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Duke of Cambridge and the Prince of Wales. It will provide a sneak peek at the Queen's role as she hands down her duties to the new generation of young royals.

The first part of Queen of the World airs on ITV on Tuesday September 25 at 9.15.p.m.
