These are the most Instagrammed places in London

Big Ben, Westminster and Buckingham Palace come out on top

The Ledbury and The Lexington are two of the most popular restaurants and pubs in London, according to analysis of social media posts.

The Ledbury in Notting Hill, which has two Michelin stars, featured in more photos on Instagram than any other restaurant in the capital in the past year, with 4,760 posts.

It was followed by Le Gavroche in Mayfair, with 2,785 posts, Typing Room in Bethnal Green (1,694), Tangia in Tooting (934), Liman Restaurant in Islington (654) and Cafe Loren in Camden (518).

The top 10 of the most photographed restaurants was completed by Humble Grape in Battersea with 349 posts, Mr Piadina in Camden (270), E Pellicci in Bethnal Green (250) and Seven Park Place at St James’s Hotel (238).

Research by Witter Towbars also found that The Lexington in Islington was London’s most photographed bar on Instagram with 6,289 posts.

It was followed by the Camden Town Brewery on 5,692 posts in the past year, Bar Americain in Piccadilly Circus (2,966), Stax Diner in Carnaby Street (1,973), Happiness Forgets in Shoreditch (1,315), Euston Tap (1,098), Satan’s Whiskers in Bethnal Green (978), Big Chill House in King’s Cross (943), Covent Garden Cocktail Club (862) and Bar Kick in Shoreditch (802).

Andrew Royles, of Witter Towbars, said: “Instagram users share photographs that detail only the beautiful moments in their lives. Compared to a popularity or rating system like TripAdvisor, we think using Instagram data is far more positive as users only embrace what is really special to them.”

The top 10 list of the capital’s most Instagrammed visitor attractions was less surprising with Big Ben coming top with 2,011,876 posts, followed by Westminster in general (581,908), Buckingham Palace (496,218), Tate Modern (334,218) and the Tower of London (269,261).

Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge was the most photographed football stadium, with 219,339 posts, followed by Wembley (144,196), Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium (110,771) and Tottenham’s White Hart Lane (47,055).

Dave Burt, chief executive of Be Social Global digital marketing agency, runs the @London Instagram account which shares spectacular and unusual images of the capital. He said even small, independent coffee shops now have to have think of how “Instagrammable” they are if they want to be a success.
