Royal Mail to release special edition Star Wars stamps ahead of The Last Jedi
They might not help you send letters to a galaxy far, far away, but The Royal Mail is set to release a set of eight Star Wars stamps in the run up to the release of the latest movie in the sci-fi series – The Last Jedi – in December.
The series of first class stamps will include images of new and classic characters from the film franchise.
Among the designs are Han Solo’s co-pilot Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker’s loyal sidekick R2-D2 and the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke.
The most adorable stamp in the collection features Porgs – the small, puffin-like creatures who live with Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi.
Illustrated by UK digital artist Malcom Tween, four of the stamps will feature secret details in fluorescent ink that can only be seen under a UV light.
The stamps come presented in a clear protective cover and will be available to buy in-store and online from October 12, but can be pre-ordered now on the Post Office website for £6.50.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the eight movie in the saga and the second instalment in the sequel trilogy. It will be released in UK cinemas on December 14.
