Carnaby Street was a hub of Scandinavian fashion last night, as the resident Monki store threw a party to celebrate its arrival.

The underwater themed bash coincided with the design of the concept store, entitled the ‘Sea of Scallops’, with bubbles blown at the entrance, sea-themed cocktails and an aquatic interior.

Guests of honour included T4 Presenter Georgie Okell, singer Cleo Sol and DJ Margot Bowman, with a performance from the Swedish electro-pop duo Icona Pop.

The Monki store, which officially opened to the public last month, is a favourite among Swedish teens and is owned by Hennes, the chain responsible for H&M and COS, and is often cited as the little sister of neighboring Cheap Monday with classic Scandinavian styles at lower prices. Head there for clean cut separates and wearable trends.
