Taylor Swift has written a love letter to London and her British boyfriend Joe Alwyn on her new album Lover.

In ‘London Boy’, Swift sings ‘So I guess/ The rumours are true/ You know I love a London boy’ before going on to describe days spent in the Capital, name-checking Camden Market, Hampstead Heath, Hackney and Bond Street.

Though Alwyn is not explicitly named on the track, Swift sings about ‘walking through Soho/ Drinking in the afternoon’ and ‘Watching rugby / With his school friends.’

At one point Swift exclaims, ‘God I love the English.’

Swift’s song ‘Dress’ from her 2017 album Reputation appears to hint that the pair were introduced at the 2016 Met Gala, describing her ‘hair bleached’ and his ‘buzz cut’ (which matches their corresponding hairstyles at the event).

They were photographed together the following June in Nashville and stepped out for the first time for the cameras in February at the BAFTAs after-party.
