Beauty brand Max Factor has chosen one of the most famous actresses of Hollywood’s golden era as its global glamour ambassador for 2015.

In the late 1940s, blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe was transformed by Max Factor himself at his Hollywood make-up studio.

The once brunette Norma Jeane was given an incredibly glamorous look from the beauty expert – complete with her signature platinum blonde curls, which made her one of the world’s most enduring icons.

Some of today’s screen stars who have shown their inspiration of Monroe’s beauty legacy include Gwyneth Paltrow, who channelled the icon in an ad for Max Factor last year. Controversial pop star Miley Cyrus was also pictured with lush yellow curls and siren-red lips on the cover of a 2014 edition of Vogue magazine.

Pat McGrath, global creative director of Max Factor, said: “Marilyn made the sultry red lip, creamy skin and dramatically lined eyes the most famous beauty look of the 1940’s, and it’s a look that continues to dominate the beauty and fashion industry.”

The silver-screen starlet will be starring in many of the brand’s advertising campaigns throughout this year. We can’t wait to see what’s in store.
