You're ugly. OK Doki?

Doki: spots pretty women
Jayne Atherton|Metro13 April 2012

Your eyes meet across a crowded room - but what if you can't believe she is really that beautiful?

That is where Doki - the world's first android able to 'scientifically calculate' a woman's beauty - could come in handy.

The head-shaped android studies people using webcams, first comparing their facial characteristics to determine their sex. And, because a woman's attractiveness to men is more dependent on looks, Doki can also gauge beauty.

David Cumming, boss of Doki's creator Intelligent Earth, said: 'The artificial-intelligence technology recognises what sex someone is by drawing on its past experiences.

'The reading can then be used to measure a woman's attractiveness.' Intelligent Earth, based in Kirkcaldy, Fife, hopes to market the £5,000 robot as an electronic personal assistant.

However, while Doki can select a beautiful woman, it cannot guarantee she will go out with you.
