Women charged with death of taxi driver

Two women have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a black cab driver.

Married driver Brian Twohey, 57, of Witham, Essex, was taken to St Mary's Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following the incident, on 21 February, a post mortem established the cause of Mr Twohey's death as a heart attack.

Today Sharon Roberts, 24, of Thessaly Road, Battersea, and 21-year-old Liane McPherson of West Road, West Ham, were charged with manslaughter.

They are also charged with affray, common assault and making off from a taxi cab without payment.
