TV chiefs panic as celebrities get on

Best of mates: contestants have yet to row

Bosses of the jungle challenge show are panicking after the first day went ahead without a single fall-out or flirt between the 10 contestants.

Producers had hoped the likes of fiery rocker Toyah Willcox, dizzy model Catalina Guirado, hunky Coronation Street actor Chris Bisson, ex-footballer John Fashanu and reformed drug addict Danniella Westbrook would prove a volatile mix.

But the first 10 hours of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, broadcast on a live through-the-night-feed from the Queensland rainforest, went ahead without a single flare-up or serious suggestion of romance.

Highlights so far have been ballet star Wayne Sleep leading a group tap dance, the group celebrating Tufnell's birthday, Catalina showing the others how to catwalk model and Bisson pathetically offering to "hose down" Westbrook when she stripped to her bikini for a shower.

Possible rumblings of a future fall-out came when Fashanu told Catalina she could "use some exercise", to get ride of "some of that excess flab".

She replied, in clipped tones: "It's not flab - it's muscle."
