Straw: No more fighting US wars

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw today said that the chances of Britain joining America in another Iraq-style invasion were "pretty remote".

Mr Straw said that he could not see any situation where the Government would line up alongside the US in a similar attack on a rogue state. Mr Straw added: "I don't think the c i rcumstances will arise."

In an interview that may come to haunt him, he also categorically ruled out any British involvement in military action against Iran even if the country defied the world over its nuclear arms programme.

"I don't see any circumstances in which military action would be justified against Iran, full stop," Mr Straw told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
