Sportech sees profits rise

SPORTECH, the gaming group, reported rising half-year profits despite falling numbers playing its Littlewoods Pools and bad losses on phone and internet bookmaker Bet Direct from the slew of winners at Cheltenham and Ascot.
Group pre-tax profits were £1.5m against £400,000 last time.
