Saddam 'hiding in his home town

Saddam Hussein has been hiding in his home town of Tikrit and could be leading resistance in the area, US officers believe.

Intelligence reports give a "clear indication" he is present, said Major Troy Smith of the 4th Infantry Division.

Three suspected members of Saddam's security force were captured in Tikrit on Sunday.

Two US troops were killed in the area yesterday. Meanwhile, the US sent a revised draft UN resolution on Iraq to Security Council members today.
