Rolls-Royce in £179m service deal

ROLLS-Royce, the jet-engine maker has agreed a $250m (£179m) deal to maintain engines for Air Canada's eight Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The 15-year deal will see Rolls' maintain the airline's Trent 772B engines.

Chief operating officer John Cheffins said that the agreement increased the number of international airlines benefiting from Rolls' full range of after-market services. 'The agreement also extends our excellent, long-standing relationship with Air Canada well beyond the 50-year mark,' he said.

Air Canada's aircraft have been powered by Rolls engines for 56 years. Air Canada also has an order for up to 15 new aircraft.
