Reckitt cleans up in households

RECKITT Benckiser today showed Unilever a clean pair of heels after a strong start to the year thanks to growth in its Vanish and Dettol cleaning products. Pre-tax profits for the first quarter to 31 March rose to £111m from £96m. Unilever said last week that war in Iraq and the Sars virus had caused it to miss profit forecasts.
