Rape gang put girl through terror ride

A gang of men who bundled a teenage girl into a car and then raped her in the moving vehicle are today being hunted by police.

The victim, 18, was taken on a half-hour terror ride during which she was sexually assaulted in the back of the car.

A police spokesman said the teenager was extremely traumatised and detectives are still working to establish exactly what happened.

It is unclear if she was raped by more than one of the men. Her ordeal began when she was forced in the early hours of yesterday into the car in upmarket Wokingham, Berkshire.

After the assault she was thrown sobbing out of the car 10 miles away in Woodley, near Reading.

She later called police later to report the incident. Detective Sergeant Pete Tomlinson, of Thames Valley Police, said: "She has been extremely brave to come forward and report an horrific and traumatic incident.

"Understandably, she is very upset and shaken. But we are using specially trained officers, to find out as much as possible about what happened and the description of those responsible.

Both the girl and her parents are distraught.

Det Sgt Tomlinson called for witnesses, adding: "Someone may have seen something suspicious in the early hours of Sunday morning, or may have come across these men since."
