Non-League Media offside at AIM

12 April 2012

SHARES in Non-League Media, the publishing group that has Newcastle United manager Bobby Robson as a non-executive director, were suspended from trading after the Alternative Investment Market-listed company said its cash position had been heavily overstated in its interim accounts.

It said finance director Fiaz ur Rehman had quit immediately and investigations were continuing.

Non-League's accounts for the six months to 31 December last year said the company had cash of £904,000 and had to pay £553,000 to creditors over the coming year.

But the company also said today that debt of £694,000 had been 'materially understated'.

Non-League publishes a range of titles aimed at fans of non-league football, including Non-League Paper and She Kicks, a women's football magazine.
