Met sergeant 'punches cab driver'

A MINI-cab driver was allegedly punched in the face by a drunken Met police sergeant who refused to pay the £16 fare.

Driver Baris Cisci, 32, claims he was attacked after driving the off-duty officer to Chingford. He said: "He was standing there for some time and I thought he was looking for his money. I got out and the next thing I know he's punched me in the eye and winded me in the stomach."

However the officer dropped his wallet containing his ID as he ran off. A police spokesman said a 32-year-old sergeant had been arrested.
