Mariah hands out four-star luxury

Mariah Carey splashed out for a hotel for four fans who travelled from Spain expecting to stay in her New York home.

The fans saw Carey taking cameras around her Manhattan penthouse on the MTV show "Cribs". She pointed to the guest room and said it was for her "fans" - she meant she kept fan mail and gifts there.

But the fans thought that meant they could stay there - so they flew from Spain to visit their idol.

The pop diva was so shocked to hear that they had arrived at her apartment with nowhere else to stay that she paid to put them up in a four-star luxury Manhattan hotel.
