Man dies in plunge from flats

POLICE launched an investigation today after a man fell to his death from a block of flats.

Officers sealed off Kingsland High Street in Dalston after the body was found in the road yesterday morning.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We were called at 4.39am. Police, paramedics and a helicopter ambulance attended. A man, aged about 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. Inquiries are continuing to establish the identity of the deceased. A post-mortem will be arranged in due course. Officers from Hackney CID are investigating.

"At this early stage, the death is being treated as unexplained. There have been no arrests."
